Haroldo Jacobovicz is a Brazilian entrepreneur and philanthropist with over 40 years of experience in the agribusiness industry. His success story started when he was 13 years old, working on his family’s farm in Brazil. In 1975, he founded Amaggi Group to produce soybeans and corn for animal feed and other agricultural products such as cotton, sugar cane, and rice.

Jacobovicz turned his focus to nonprofit activities supporting the conservation of the Amazon rainforest. He joined forces with American ecologist Thomas Lovejoy in 2008 to launch a program called Bolsa Floresta. The initiative pays residents living in forests in remote areas of Brazil’s Amazon region not to cut trees down for their use. The goal is to protect the environment and preserve the indigenous way of life. Jacobovicz has also been a leader in promoting sustainable agribusiness practices. He was one of the first businessmen in Brazil to sign the United Nations’ Principles for Responsible Investment (UNPRI) in 2006. The UNPRI is a global framework that promotes sustainable and responsible investment.

Haroldo Jacobovicz has been honored with several awards in recognition of his achievements, including the Order of Rio Branco from the Brazilian government and the Order of Isabella, the Catholic from the Spanish government. He serves as President of the Board at Amaggi, one of the largest soybean suppliers in Brazil. Haroldo Jacobovicz is an excellent example of an entrepreneur with a vision to lead his company toward sustainable practices. He has created programs that support the conservation of natural resources and helps preserve indigenous communities worldwide.


Haroldo was born on 11th September 1951 in Campo Grande – MS – Brazil. At 13 years old, he worked on his family’s farm in Brazil. In 1975, he founded Amaggi Group to produce soybeans and corn for animal feed, along with other agricultural products such as cotton, Jacobovicz is a testament to what can be achieved through hard work, innovation, and a commitment to sustainability.
